Nature-Inspired Technologies & climate change: public outreach event

At 8pm on 21st October, Dr Katherine Dunn is delivering a live online public outreach event on ‘Nature-Inspired Technologies’ for tackling climate change.

This is part of the University of Edinburgh’s ‘Changing World Conversations’ series, taking place in the run-up to COP26.

Katherine will explain how taking inspiration from nature can help engineers to develop revolutionary new technologies designed to deal with climate change challenges, enabling us to reduce our carbon footprint or repair environmental damage. She will cover a range of bio-inspired innovations, including the cutting-edge science of electrosynbionics, which involves creating devices that use components derived from or inspired by biology to generate, use or store electricity.

Katherine’s programme and the others in the series will be broadcast live via the links here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBcSHVMkBQZgnM7t4LFMV11oEofR2J1vX
